(Motorsport-Total.com) – Shortly before the start of the 2026 Formula 1 season, actor Damson Idris returns to the premier class with a large-scale campaign. Titled “All To Drive For”, the new era of Formula 1 is to be ushered in – together with all 22 drivers of the 2026 starting grid.

F1.com recently released a first taste in the form of a teaser trailer. The scene begins in a garage: the door opens, and Idris is standing behind it. With the words “You think you know Formula 1?” he addresses the viewers directly and adds: “Think again.”
Then the 2025 world champion, Lando Norris, has his say. His clear message: “Everything is changing.” After that, the focus shifts back to Idris before the entire 2026 driver field is shown one after another.
At the center of the campaign is the comprehensive upheaval for the 2026 season. Emily Prazer, Chief Commercial Officer of Formula 1, explains in a press release: “The 2026 season welcomes the next generation of racing in Formula 1 – with new cars, new engines, and a completely new driving style.”
She continues: “It is the biggest upheaval our sport has ever seen, as the starting conditions are leveled and every team fights to develop the best car and the best performance. The campaign invites fans old and new to get involved at a time when every lap is unpredictable and everything is at stake.”

Formula 1 film already honored
In fact, the new regulations mark a historic turning point. The 2026 regulations provide, among other things, for a nearly balanced 50:50 split between internal combustion and electric power.
In addition, the cars will be smaller and lighter, while active aerodynamics will replace the previous DRS system. The balance of power in the field could thus be fundamentally reshuffled.
Idris has been closely connected to the Formula 1 world at least since the successful Formula 1 feature film. It was filmed during real race weekends, which is why he, his co-star Brad Pitt, and the film crew were regularly seen in the paddock.
Since its theatrical release in June 2025, the film has grossed more than 630 million US dollars worldwide. The production also attracted attention during the awards season, most recently by winning the BAFTA Award on February 22 in the “Best Sound” category. It is also nominated for four Oscars.
