(Motorsport-Total.com) – After much skepticism, Alexander Albon is among the fans of the Miami Grand Prix. “Honestly, I like Miami much better now,” explains the Williams driver in a YouTube video from the racing team.

“I don’t know what it was, but in the first year Miami felt more like a show, kind of like Las Vegas in its first year.”
Nevertheless, Albon emphasizes: “But over time the structure has improved and the teams have also gotten used to Miami. Now it’s really fun, I like it. And actually, my partner and I could imagine living there.”
Of course, the result from the past Miami weekend likely helped the mood. After all, both Williams drivers were able to score points on race Sunday. It should be noted that the YouTube video was published before the Grand Prix.
Many will probably remember the spectacular duel between Carlos Sainz and Max Verstappen. Team principal James Vowles does not yet expect a major turnaround despite his drivers’ performance, at least not before the summer break.

On YouTube, Albon also spoke about the development of Formula 1 in the USA. “It’s fantastic,” says the 30-year-old. “It has changed so much. You know, everyone is so incredibly friendly. I think Americans have a very positive attitude.”
This year, Formula 1 will be seen twice more in the USA. On one hand, as has been almost exclusively the case since 2012, the United States Grand Prix in Austin is on the schedule.
Additionally, shortly before the end of the season, the Las Vegas Grand Prix is planned, the latest showpiece from Liberty Media. In North America, Grand Prix racing is also represented by the races in Canada and Mexico.
Miami has been on the calendar since 2022 and, according to the current plan, will be part of Formula 1 until 2041. Therefore, among other things, the expansion of the Paddock Club is planned.
