(Motorsport-Total.com) – Ferrari used the break between the two Formula 1 races in Miami and Montreal, among other things, for a test in Hungary. Because private Formula 1 test drives in current cars (except for exceptions like so-called filming days) are generally prohibited, the two Formula 2 drivers spent two days on the track in the Ferrari SF-25 from the 2025 season.
While the 22-year-old Beganovic was already allowed to drive the car several times last year during Friday practice sessions and the season finale test in Abu Dhabi, the 21-year-old Camara sat behind the wheel of a Formula 1 car for the very first time.
The Brazilian has been part of the “Ferrari Driver Academy” since 2021 and won the title in the Formula Regional European Championship (FRECA) in 2024 and became champion in Formula 3 in his rookie season in 2025.
This year he is competing in Formula 2 for the first time, where after the first two race weekends he is also in a strong third overall position with two podium finishes. He is also considered a candidate this year for at least one Formula 1 Friday outing in the Ferrari.

Beganovic also became champion in the Formula Regional European Championship in 2022, but unlike Camara, he never got beyond sixth overall in Formula 3 in the following two years.
Since 2025 he has been competing in Formula 2, where he finished seventh in his rookie season and won a race. He is currently again in seventh place in the overall standings with a podium finish – and thus behind rookie Camara.
“It was very, very nice to be back in a Formula 1 car,” he himself commented on the test at the Hungaroring and explained: “It is always a fantastic feeling, and I can’t wait for the next time.”
