(Motorsport-Total.com) – The hype around Topps Formula 1 trading cards continues to grow, as two individual pieces have achieved extraordinary sale prices at recent auctions: A card of Michael Schumacher changed hands for 74,420 US dollars, while a unique Lewis Hamilton card even fetched 134,810 US dollars.

However, this is not a new record for Topps Formula 1 trading cards. Already in 2024, the American trading card manufacturer made headlines when a unique Lewis Hamilton card was auctioned for the record sum of one million US dollars.
The cards now auctioned come from Topps’ exclusive Dynasty series. Characteristic of these products is the combination of autograph, so-called “relic” material, and extremely limited edition – in both cases, these are unique 1/1 pieces worldwide.
The Hamilton card from the 2025 Dynasty series contains three so-called “Race-Used Memorabilia Patches,” i.e., actual pieces of material worn during races from his Ferrari racing suit. The card was sealed by Topps (“Encased”) and provided with a certificate of authenticity.

The autograph on the card was personally applied by Hamilton. In the case of the Schumacher card from the 2024 Dynasty collection, the focus is on the so-called “Cut-Signature” element. This is a historical original signature on a piece of his glove, which was integrated into the card.

The overall piece is complemented by material from a former Ferrari overall. Due to this multi-layered construction, the card was designed as a fold-out booklet format to appropriately present the various relic elements.
Already a few months ago, the auction of a rare card of Kimi Antonelli caused a stir: The unique piece then changed hands for over 200,000 US dollars and is thus one of the most expensive trading cards in the premier class.
Crazy: A few weeks ago, Hamilton admitted that he himself has caught the collecting fever: “I just opened these boxes and thought: I definitely need more of these!”, said the seven-time world champion with a smile.
Topps has been the official license partner of Formula 1 since 2020 and extended the cooperation in 2024 as part of a long-term multi-year agreement. The company is the exclusive provider of official Formula 1 trading cards and recently even released a Hamilton card embedded with a real diamond.
