Halo comes from the American breeder Goldiva Goldens and is Hamilton’s first dog since the death of his longtime companion Roscoe. The English Bulldog died in September 2025 at the age of 13 from pneumonia.
For the care of the new family member, Hamilton is once again relying on Kirstin McMillian. The Los Angeles-based dog trainer had already worked with Hamilton’s previous dogs Roscoe and Coco and now also accompanies Halo.
The breeder confirmed the puppy’s transfer on Instagram and posted a photo showing Halo wearing a racing helmet: “We are excited to fly Miss Halo to Los Angeles to Formula 1 Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton. Dog trainer Kirstin McMillian, who comes from a family with three generations of animal trainers, flew to Maine yesterday.”
Fans celebrate Hamilton’s new companion
The news also attracted great attention on social media after Hamilton’s partner and media personality Kim Kardashian posted a photo with the dog. Numerous fans reacted enthusiastically to the new addition.
“This dog has no idea how lucky he is. He will definitely be spoiled rotten and probably have the best dog life ever,” writes a user on Reddit.

Another adds: “Interesting that he chose a different breed for his third dog, even though he apparently is a big bulldog fan. I’m not a big dog person, but this is a really cute puppy. I hope she and Lewis spend many wonderful years together, because there is hardly anything more fulfilling than when an animal becomes a true best friend.”
Fans hope for a meeting with Leclerc’s dog Leo
Other fans are already looking forward to a possible meeting with Leo, the dog of Hamilton’s Ferrari teammate Charles Leclerc.
“She is so cute! It would be nice to see Halo and Leo together sometime,” writes a user. Another replies: “I wonder if Halo will be allowed in the paddock later. Golden Retrievers can get quite big after all.” Another fan said: “Halo and Leo need matching Ferrari jackets.”
So Halo moves in with Hamilton just in time for the Formula 1 summer break. After his fifth place at the Hungarian Grand Prix, the Ferrari driver is second in the drivers’ standings with 169 points and is 50 points behind championship leader Kimi Antonelli.
