(Motorsport-Total.com) – Formula 1 driver Lance Stroll is using the summer racing break for a very special outing: The Aston Martin driver was spotted behind the wheel of an outrageously expensive Aston Martin DBR22 on the streets of his chosen home Monaco.

The Canadian racer steered the roofless V12 speedster through the principality. The DBR22 was unveiled in 2022 on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the bespoke personalization division “Q by Aston Martin.” The design of the exclusive sports car is based on the legendary Aston Martin DBR1, with which the British traditional brand won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1959.
Under the elongated hood of the limited speedster works a 5.2-liter V12 with twin turbo, delivering a proud 705 hp and a torque of 752 Newton meters to the road. The sprint from 0 to 100 km/h is achieved in about 3.5 seconds, with a top speed of just under 320 km/h.
Only 22 units of the DBR22 were built worldwide. At launch, the base price before individual special requests was around 1.5 million British pounds (about 1.75 million euros). Meanwhile, the market value of the collector’s item is estimated at about 2.5 to 3 million pounds.
As VIP Fortunes reports, the DBR22 joins an already quite impressive garage of the 27-year-old Canadian. His private car collection includes, among others, an Aston Martin Vantage, a Mercedes-AMG GT R, a Ferrari California, and a Lamborghini Huracan.

The luxurious joyride in the principality takes place against the backdrop of a very complicated first half of the 2026 Formula 1 season for the Aston Martin driver.
Expectations for the Silverstone racing team were high before the start of the season: The team started with a new engine partnership with Honda and also sent the first car into the race that was developed under the leadership of the rigid star designer Adrian Newey.
But the AMR26 proved to be a real problem child in the first months. The car was the slowest in the entire field. Technical shortcomings and defects led to numerous retirements.
To escape the misery, the team brought a comprehensive B-spec update to the last Hungarian Grand Prix, which at least brought a small performance boost. At the Hungaroring, Stroll and Alonso finished 13th and 14th.
