(Motorsport-Total.com) – Sergio Pérez made a strong impression during his visit to the new Cadillac factory. The Mexican, who is advancing the Formula 1 project together with the team, is particularly impressed by the modern facilities and organization.

“Yes, we were in the factory,” confirms Pérez. It was his first visit on site – and apparently a special one. “The new factory is very impressive. I have never seen a factory like this in my career. It is really, really impressive.”
Pérez also used the visit to exchange ideas with the engineers and other project staff. This also involved plans for the new team. “We had a bit of time to talk with the engineers and everyone involved in the project about the plans and so on. It was nice to see everyone again,” he says.
Perez: “Everything is new”
Pérez particularly emphasizes that practically everything at Cadillac has been newly built. For the former Formula 1 driver, the factory therefore differs from his previous experiences with other teams.
“I think, first of all, everything is new,” explains Pérez. He refers to the technical equipment, the various platforms, and the connection between the individual departments.
It is precisely this networking that impressed him. “How nicely everything is connected, all the different departments. It is like a new home. Very well organized, very well coordinated. It is really nice to see.”

“The project excites me more every day”
According to his own statement, his motivation for the new project is unbroken – and even growing. “It is a project that excites me more every day,” says Pérez. The opportunity to be part of the build-up keeps him highly motivated.
Above all, the Mexican emphasizes his role within the project. “It is an incredible brand,” says the Mexican. In his career so far, he has never had the opportunity to help shape a project in this way and really be heard.
“I have never had the opportunity in my career to really be heard, to lead a project like this,” he explains. He formulates his goal accordingly clearly: “I am fully motivated and committed to bringing Cadillac to the top together with the team.”
Nevertheless, there are still open points. Among other things, he lacks the possibility to sufficiently train energy management under the appropriate conditions in the simulator. The reason: Cadillac only receives information about this from Ferrari shortly before the race weekend.
