Vasseur: Updates not that important
Again and again, the press conference is about Ferrari updates. Vasseur is no longer very keen to talk about it, but then clarifies once again that the upgrades are not as important as some might think.
They are still at the very beginning of development with these cars, so for example, sometimes more time can be gained with the setup than with an update. Therefore, these should not be overestimated.

Team orders at Ferrari?
Now Vasseur is asked whether he will soon fully commit to Lewis Hamilton in the championship. His clear answer: “No.” That means Charles Leclerc will continue to get all chances internally.
Vasseur laughs at Wolff comment
Toto Wolff recently said that Ferrari would soon run out of money because the Scuderia has already brought so many updates to the car. “I don’t know if it was a joke,” Vasseur says with a laugh.
He emphasizes that Ferrari develops its car just like every other team. It is therefore “ironic” that such a comment came precisely from Mercedes.
Brown on Verstappen rumors
Right at the start, the McLaren boss talks about the alleged talks with Max Verstappen. “Those are rumors,” he says only and later clarifies: “I am very satisfied with my two drivers.”
When asked whether there will be no switch from Verstappen to McLaren in the foreseeable future, he answers: “Correct.”

In Silverstone, the team bosses’ press conference will take place in ten minutes. The following participants are announced today:

Piastri’s spin …
… in FT1 is here again in the video. That was also the most spectacular scene in a rather uneventful practice. But for the teams, that is of course good because they were able to get the maximum out of the only practice session of the weekend.
New engines
Several drivers have received a new engine for this weekend. This specifically concerns Carlos Sainz (Williams) and both drivers from Haas, Alpine, and Cadillac. The change is penalty-free everywhere because all are still within the allowed quota.
