(Motorsport-Total.com) – Fernando Alonso also attracts attention outside of Formula 1. The Aston Martin driver was spotted in Monaco behind the wheel of a particularly exclusive Lamborghini Sián FKP 37. Only 63 coupes of the hybrid hypercar exist worldwide.

A short video clip currently circulating on social media shows a dark blue Sián on the streets of the Principality. Alonso is said to be behind the wheel. Although there is no clear view of the driver, it was already known that the Spaniard owns this vehicle. The decisive clue is the license plate with Alonso’s starting number 14.
The vehicle itself can also be quickly identified. The distinctive Y-shaped LED headlights, the bronze-colored rims, and the angular body make the Sián an unmistakable appearance. In a concrete underpass, the sound of the V12 can also be heard before the car continues its journey through Monaco.
Lamborghini relies on supercapacitors
The Lamborghini Sián FKP 37 was introduced in 2019 and marked an important step for Lamborghini towards hybrid technology. The Italian manufacturer did not rely on a conventional battery storage but on a lithium-ion supercapacitor. This can absorb and release electrical energy particularly quickly and is also lighter than a comparable battery.
The hybrid system combines the 6.5-liter V12 naturally aspirated engine with an electric motor. The electric drive contributes 34 hp, while the combustion engine delivers most of the power. A total of 819 hp is available. This allows the Sián to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 2.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 355 km/h.
Technically, Lamborghini also relies on elaborate solutions elsewhere. The vehicle includes, among other things, a carbon monocoque, titanium intake valves, active aerodynamics, and rear-wheel steering. The interior also combines Italian craftsmanship with numerous customization options.
Only 63 coupes worldwide
The exclusivity of the Sián, however, is not only in its technology. Lamborghini produced only 63 examples of the coupe. The number is a reference to the year 1963, when Lamborghini began producing sports cars. In addition, 19 examples were made as roadsters.

The name suffix FKP 37 is a tribute to Ferdinand Karl Piëch. The number 37 refers to his birth year. Each of the 63 coupes was individually configured through Lamborghini’s Ad Personam program, making the vehicles different from each other.
Already at market launch, the Sián was correspondingly exclusive. The then base price was around 3.3 million euros. Meanwhile, used examples are traded significantly higher. According to reports, current resale offers are sometimes around four million pounds before taxes, which corresponds to about 5.9 million dollars.
Another exotic in Alonso’s collection
For Alonso, the Lamborghini is thus another extraordinary vehicle in his private collection. The two-time Formula 1 world champion is known for his enthusiasm for special sports and super sports cars.
In addition to the Sián, reports say his fleet includes a Pagani Zonda Roadster Diamante Verde, a Mercedes CLK GTR, and an Aston Martin DBX S. The Lamborghini thus joins a collection whose vehicles were sometimes built only in very small numbers.
In Monaco, the Sián now attracts attention not only because of its owner. The combination of 819 hp, hybrid technology with supercapacitor, and a production limited to 63 vehicles makes the Lamborghini one of the most exclusive automobiles in Alonso’s garage.
