(Motorsport-Total.com) – Formula 1 announced several contract extensions with Sky on Wednesday. Thus, the premier class will continue to be seen on the pay-TV channel in the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Italy in the coming years.

Sky Italia will broadcast Formula 1 in Italy through the new contract until the end of 2032, Sky Sports in the UK and Ireland even until the end of 2034. The partnership also includes the support series Formula 2, Formula 3, F1 Academy, and the Porsche Supercup.
The TV rights in Germany are not affected by the new agreement. There, the current Sky contract still runs until the end of 2027. It is interesting that the contract with Sky Sports was originally set to run until 2029 – so even two years longer.
Nevertheless, there has already been an early extension. The cards could be reshuffled in the German market after the EU Commission recently approved the takeover of Sky Deutschland by the RTL Group.
Formula 1 boss Stefano Domenicali says about the new Sky deal: “Sky has always been a committed, trustworthy, and passionate partner since the beginning of our collaboration many years ago.”

“I am very pleased that we will now take our partnership into the next decade,” said Domenicali. Sky has been broadcasting Formula 1 in the UK since 2012. In Germany, Sky currently also shows all races of the premier class live.
In recent years, RTL has also broadcast some races on free TV. However, no plans have been communicated so far for 2026 in this regard.
