Norris: Hamilton and Antonelli too fast
The world champion had a good sprint and moved up to P3. But against Hamilton and Antonelli, he had no chance. “That was a very good race. I am very, very happy,” he emphasizes.
“I didn’t have the pace to keep up with those two, but I had a good fight with George and the others behind me,” Norris explains.
He says he was “pleasantly surprised” by the result, “but it was only the sprint, and now we have to do it all again,” he stresses with regard to the Grand Prix on Sunday.

Antonelli: Overtake mode made the difference
The sprint winner says about his decisive overtaking maneuver against Lewis Hamilton: “When I got the overtake mode, I knew a chance would soon present itself.”
And Hamilton on the other side emphasizes that as soon as Antonelli was within the second window, “I knew it was coming.”
“The first ten laps with Lewis were really fun. We both gave it our all,” says Antonelli. Once he was past, the Ferrari could no longer counter.
Investigation against Lawson
The sprint result is still provisional. An investigation is underway against Liam Lawson because he allegedly changed his line once during the braking phase in a duel with Isack Hadjar. That is forbidden. We are, of course, keeping an eye on the investigation.

Pit lane open
Everything goes a bit faster in the sprint. 30 minutes to the start and the pit lane now opens – but only for five minutes. During this time, the drivers must make their way to the starting grid.
Who goes into the sprint on which tires, we will find out as usual only immediately before the start.
Brundle: Ferrari can win
Can Lewis Hamilton, after pole yesterday, also take the sprint win today? Expert Martin Brundle explains on Sky: “The engine upgrade that Ferrari had in Austria was not fully exploited there.”
In Silverstone, however, the engine now works better, according to the expert. Ferrari is “very strong on the back straight,” he observed and explained: “Somehow they have a certain efficiency and top speed that paid off here.”
“They are really on the level of Mercedes,” says Brundle.
Albon starts from the pit lane
Alexander Albon will give up his 16th starting position later in the sprint. Williams has changed the setup on his car, which is why he has to start from the pit lane. All drivers behind him move up one place.
Williams is thus using the sprint once again as a better test because from P16 they probably wouldn’t have had a chance for points anyway.
