Audi Update
Small update from Audi. They haven’t given up hope of sending both cars into the race. “We have to start from the pit lane, but let’s see if we can do it,” said Bortoleto on Sky.
Investigation against Perez
The Mexican has already incurred an investigation before the start because he apparently performed his practice start in the wrong place. This will be investigated again after the race.
Lawson on the grid, Bortoleto not
The information from our colleagues was probably not correct. Lawson did make it onto the grid. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that the problems with his car are permanently resolved.
The bad news: Bortoleto didn’t make it; he rolled out just behind the pit exit. Is Audi losing another car here before the start?
It’s already certain that there won’t be a start with 22 cars again. Bortoleto will at most be able to follow the field from the pit lane now.
Pit lane open
40 minutes until the start and the pit lane is now open. The drivers now have ten minutes to make their way to the grid. According to Sky, Lawson will definitely not make it.
“At best, he will start from the pit lane,” says expert Martin Brundle. So, no 22 cars on the grid again.

Or maybe not …
Maybe we celebrated too soon. Apparently, there’s a problem with Liam Lawson’s car. So maybe only 21 cars on the grid again. Let’s see if the Racing Bulls can still fix it. The pit lane opens in ten minutes.
22 Cars on the Grid
For a change, we’re experiencing a race today where all 22 cars start from the grid. The FIA has just published the final starting grid, and this time no one is starting from the pit lane.
In fact, this has only happened once this year, at a single Grand Prix, namely in Japan. Otherwise, at least one driver has always started from the pit lane – or not at all.
It starts in one hour.
