Formula 1 regulars' table with Christian Nimmervoll: He is back!

(Motorsport-Total.com) – For the first time since August 2025, Christian Nimmervoll will be a guest again on a Formula 1 regulars’ table on the YouTube channel of Formel1.de on Wednesday (May 27, 2026). A “guest” who needs no introduction to the channel members, as he has been the editor-in-chief of that platform since 2003, which today includes Motorsport-Total.com as well as Formel1.de.

In summer 2025, after a quarter of a century as a relentless workaholic, Christian was sidelined by an apparent “penny defect.” Several herniated discs in the cervical spine escalated into a spiral of pain that kept him on the sidelines for months. An unusual position for him, as he had accompanied Formula 1 nonstop as a journalist since 1999.

Christian joined the Hamburg online start-up Daily F1 in 1999 and became a partner there in 2000 alongside founder Alexander Funk. In 2003, he followed the call of his long-time market competitor Fabian Hust to F1Total.com – the predecessor of today’s Motorsport-Total.com. A professional station he has never left since.

The 44-year-old Upper Austrian loves white wine and good food besides fast cars, played tennis at least until his spinal problems, and discovered mountain hiking during the long forced break – along with all kinds of training variants aimed at strengthening the spinal muscles.

Many also know him as the author of the book “Grand Prix Stories – Behind the Scenes of Formula 1,” which was a bestseller for weeks in the category charts on Amazon.de in its publication year 2024. When the second volume will be released is still unclear after Christian’s long break. However, it is certain that the original schedule (2027) will not be met. (ADVERTISEMENT: Order volume 1 online now, also signed by the author as a special gift idea!)

Formula 1 regulars’ table: What is it?

On Wednesday evening, Christian will be a guest from 7 p.m. at the monthly members’ regulars’ table on the YouTube channel of Formel1.de. There he will not only answer questions from channel members but also explain how he spent the past months without active journalism and why he now weighs more than 30 kilograms less than before his herniated discs. (€3.99/month: Become a member now!)

Before, prominent figures such as Ralf Schumacher, former Haas team principal Günther Steiner, Racing Bulls CEO Peter Bayer, or former Grand Prix drivers Alexander Wurz and Nick Heidfeld, as well as the legendary Mercedes sports director Norbert Haug, have been guests at our regulars’ table.

The previous regulars’ tables (since December 2021) have always lasted between three and seven hours. When the prominent guest leaves the livestream, there is still the opportunity to discuss Formula 1 among like-minded people or to ask our team questions and chat about what is currently topical in the premier class.

Participate or just watch: Both possible!

Our channel members can participate in the May regulars’ table (start: Wednesday, 7:00 p.m.) themselves. Either passively as viewers of the livestream or actively with text messages via the live chat. Or even directly face-to-face with webcam or smart device.

As many users as possible will have the opportunity to ask our guest questions personally. Best in a relaxed, informal setting, with a glass of beer or wine in hand – just like you know from a regulars’ table in a pub.

Info: How to dial into the meeting

Information on how to dial in will be available shortly before the event starts in the “Membership” tab on the YouTube channel of Formel1.de. Those who are not yet members but want to become one now can do so via this link.

Channel members who do not want to actively participate in the discussion but are interested in what is being discussed can watch the livestream from 7:00 p.m. on the YouTube channel of Formel1.de, or of course also on demand as a video after the regulars’ table ends (full length also only for members).
