Formula 1 Weather 2026: The current forecasts for Miami

(Motorsport-Total.com) – These are crucial questions at every Formula 1 2026 race weekend. Namely: What is the weather forecast? Is a wet track to be expected on site? Are intermediates or even wet tires needed? Or will it simply remain consistently dry from practice to qualifying to the race, and dry tires will suffice? In short: What do drivers like Nico Hülkenberg, Max Verstappen, and Lewis Hamilton have to prepare for?

And as the event progresses, this preview article is updated with new weather information such as temperature in degrees Celsius, wind strength, cloud cover, and expected precipitation for each day of the weekend.

The result is the most precise weather forecast possible for the respective Grands Prix of the 2026 Formula 1 season. Sprint (Start at 6:00 PM)
On the second Formula 1 day in Miami, 30 degrees Celsius are again forecast. Again, there are only isolated clouds, and again, no rain is expected. The wind now hits the racetrack from the south. This means a headwind exiting Turn 1, at the apex of Turn 7, and a tailwind in the winding section at the end of the second sector. On average, the wind blows at 20 km/h, with gusts up to 50 km/h.

Qualifying (from 10:00 PM)
For qualifying, the weather conditions in Miami change only slightly: temperatures remain around 30 degrees with strong wind from the south. Rain is not an issue.

Sunday, May 3, 2026

Grand Prix (Start at 10:00 PM)
If it rains in Miami on Sunday, it will be before the start of the Grand Prix. By race time in the late afternoon (local time), the track should be completely dry again, as the sun will then play the main role. It is even expected to be hotter than before: temperatures up to 33 degrees Celsius are forecast.

The wind direction changes again: The wind comes from the south to south-southwest at an average of 17 km/h. However, it can reach up to 45 km/h. This results in a headwind exiting the first corner and at Turn 7, as well as a tailwind before Turn 11 and mostly crosswind on the long straights.

Note: This forecast will be updated several times during the week!

First forecasts for the 2026 Canadian Grand Prix:
At the end of May, temperatures in Montreal are around 20 degrees Celsius on average. So it will probably be a bit cooler than recently in Miami. But beware: With around twelve rainy days a month, there is an increased probability of showers on the race weekend.
