(Motorsport-Total.com) – The countdown for the “ADAC Hockenheim Historic – The Jim Clark Revival” from May 8 to 10, 2026 is on. The paddock is bursting at the seams with a dozen racing series featuring more than 500 race cars from various eras and categories.

The organizers expect broad public interest on the three event days for the 21st edition of the popular classic event, as in previous years.
This year’s edition of the event, which as always is held in memory of the two-time Formula 1 World Champion Jim Clark who tragically died at the Hockenheimring in 1968, also features an attractive program.

No fewer than twelve racing series with more than 500 participants have announced their attendance for the second weekend in May.
Touring Cars Through the Ages
Absolute crowd magnets are the DRM Revival and the Touring Car Golden Era. Here you will find the powerful machines of the legendary German Racing Championship (DRM) and the classic touring cars of the “old” DTM as well as the Super Touring Car Championship (STW).
And it’s not just the cars that captivate the fans. In recent years, fan favorites such as Altfrid Heger, Olaf Manthey, Roland Asch, Kris Nissen, Harald Grohs, or Kurt Thiim have repeatedly taken the wheel of one of their former race cars.
For the first time and a real highlight of the event is the Class 1 Revival powered by CARBON. Older fans will remember the legendary asphalt battles of big names in the high-tech racers from Alfa Romeo, Mercedes-Benz, and Opel during the 1994 to 1996 seasons.
After the end of the ITC, the DTM was reborn in 2000 with the V8 cars from Audi, Mercedes, and Opel, and from 2012 also BMW. In the 2019 season, they switched from naturally aspirated to turbo engines, but only for two years, then Class 1 was definitively discontinued. However, many cars from that era still exist and will be seen at the ADAC Hockenheim Historic.
Pure Formula Racing
Fans of classic formula racing will also get their money’s worth. A staple of the ADAC Hockenheim Historic is the Historic Racecar Association, which competes with various formula cars for the “ADAC Graf Berghe von Trips Cup,” commemorating Wolfgang Graf Berghe von Trips, who died tragically at the 1961 Italian Grand Prix in Monza. And the very popular BOSS GP is the playground for impressive formula cars from the 1980s through the 2000s.
Additionally, the Lurani Trophy and the DMV Formula V are on the program, recalling two of the most successful and well-known junior formula classes of the last century.

While the Lurani Trophy is the gathering place for Formula Junior, Formula V is considered one of the most brilliant ideas of the ingenious former Porsche racing director Huschke von Hanstein. Both categories share the fact that they have produced countless big names, including several Formula 1 World Champions such as Jochen Rindt, Niki Lauda, and Keke Rosberg.
Between Talent Development and Prototype Power
The historic racing classes at the ADAC Hockenheim Historic are complemented this year by a leap into the modern era. The Gebhardt Ginetta Nordic Championship, making its German debut here, is an ideal springboard for all young drivers who want to move up to higher GT classes – but not only that: A certain Formula 1 driver named Lando Norris earned his first stripes at home in Great Britain in a Ginetta G40. All cars are technically identical, with sealed engines and gearboxes, so only driving skill counts.
One of the absolute highlights of this year’s ADAC Hockenheim Historic is the Velom Sportscar Supercup by Interwetten SCC. As part of the SCC racing series, which enters its 30th season in 2026, a wide-ranging field of various sports cars from many eras will compete.
In addition, the LMP3 prototypes of the 1st and 2nd generation, powered by 5.6-liter V8 engines from Nissan, will start. The field of participants continues to grow steadily. The well-known Austrian ex-Formula 1 driver Christian Klien has also confirmed his participation.
Dedicated entirely to the Porsche brand is the Golden Era Classic Cup, which starts its second season at the ADAC Hockenheim Historic. The racing series reflects the technical evolution of the Zuffenhausen sports car manufacturer – from the legendary air-cooled 911s through the water-cooled models starting with the 996 series to the powerhouses of Division 5 like the 911 RSR and other endurance models from IMSA, Le Mans, etc.

The Raceclub Germany is an association of owners of historic formula and sports cars. At selected events such as the Jim Clark Revival, presentation runs are organized that are deliberately not competitive but are intended to provide spectators and drivers with a special enjoyment of these wonderful vehicles. And last but not least, Team FNT presents selected performance vehicles, including Formula 1 cars from the 2000s.
Horsepower Festival On and Off the Track
The ADAC Hockenheim Historic – The Jim Clark Revival not only attracts with a great program on the racetrack. The activity area at the East Grandstand becomes a meeting point for numerous brand clubs, and the ADAC Experience World delights young and old with a variety of attractions and interactive activities. In the Congress Pavilion, there is an exclusive special exhibition with numerous original exhibits about Jim Clark and Team Lotus.
The pit roof transforms into a versatile experience area: On 4,000 square meters, numerous stands and exhibitions present themselves to visitors. Special guided tours offer a behind-the-scenes look. And those strolling through the paddock will surely encounter one or another big name from the motorsport world.
The Friday ticket is already available for 17 euros, day tickets for Saturday and Sunday cost 39 and 34 euros respectively. And those who want to enjoy the entire weekend can do so for 54 euros. Of course, this includes grandstand seating and paddock access. Students and pupils pay half price, children under 14 and wheelchair users enjoy the ADAC Hockenheim Historic for free.
