After the final day of testing on Friday, February 20, the Briton drew a positive conclusion on social media and emphasized how much working in the team motivates him.

“That’s it for testing. It’s inspiring to see a team pull out all the stops to build a car. That’s the most fascinating part of this job for me,” said Hamilton.

Hamilton: “This feeling never gets old”

“Everything is built from the ground up, designed and redesigned over and over again. And then there are only a few of us who get to test this machine. This feeling never gets old. I want to say a huge thank you to everyone in the team at the factory for the hard work that has brought us this far! I am truly grateful.”

“I love this job so much, and I love working with my team and driving for the fans. I am incredibly lucky to be able to do what I do, and I am looking forward to the upcoming season.”

Looking ahead to 2026, Formula 1 is facing a comprehensive change in regulations. In the future, the power unit is intended to consist of almost equal parts combustion and electrical energy.

Batteries recharged, motivation high

After the ground-effect era from 2022 to 2025 did not optimally suit Hamilton’s driving style, the focus is particularly on him because he celebrated great successes in the previous hybrid era from 2014 to 2021.

Accordingly, Hamilton also spoke combatively about his personal situation and emphasized that he had made a mental restart: “I am refocused and refreshed. I’m not going anywhere, so stay with me.”

“For a moment I forgot who I was, but thanks to you and your support, you won’t see that attitude again. I know what needs to be done. This is going to be a hell of a great season. I’ve given everything to be here today. Let’s go team!!!” The message is clear: he feels ready for the new season and is far from stepping down.
