The new edition is called “Monopoly Formula 1 Edition” and combines the world of Grand Prix racing with the classic principle of real estate trading. For this, the game concept was adapted in several places.
Instead of streets, players now collect race tracks from the Formula 1 calendar. According to the official statement, “players race through every stop on the race calendar and compete throughout the season for championship points and victories.”
Racing instead of property trading
Furthermore, participants choose their preferred Formula 1 team and move helmet game pieces over the central track of the game board. The goal is to win the “Monopoly GRAND PRIX.” The classic passing of the “Go” space with a payout of 200 dollars is thus omitted.
Emily Prazer, Chief Commercial Officer of Formula One, explains: “Monopoly is one of the most iconic and popular board games in the world. That’s why we are very excited to give the classic a Formula 1 twist.”

Hasbro praises collaboration with Formula 1
Billy Lagor, President of Hasbro’s games division, also comments on the collaboration: “Formula 1 is one of the most recognized sports brands in the world. We look forward to bringing the atmosphere of a race day with roaring engines, pit stop drama, and strategic decisions into a game night.”
Lagor also explains: “We have reinterpreted the classic Monopoly experience from the perspective of Formula 1. The race tracks, rivalries, and constant fight for the podium create a game that feels authentic to fans of both worlds.”
The “Monopoly Formula 1 Edition” can now be pre-ordered worldwide. The release is planned for July 15, 2026.
