In this short timeframe, logically, Schumacher’s entire career is not covered, but only the period around his Formula 1 debut in 1991 with Jordan. There is no major studio behind the project. The creators say:

“‘The Kaiser’ is a cinematic short film that tells the previously unknown story of Michael Schumacher’s rise – from his groundbreaking debut in 1991 to the pivotal moments that shaped a legend.”

“Filmed with a bold, cinematic approach and driven by a quest for authenticity, the film brings one of motorsport’s greatest stories to life in an unprecedented way.”

“Created as a ‘Proof of Concept’ for a future feature film, ‘The Kaiser’ combines real historical events with compelling storytelling and captures the intensity, pressure, and humanity behind the helmet,” it says.

However, the title of the film is somewhat unusual, about which one user in the comments under the trailer, for example, writes: “I have been a German Schumacher fan since 1998 and have never in my life heard anyone call him ‘Kaiser’.”

Bulgarian director Lubo Marinov himself says of the short film: “For me, this is more than just a film. It is a passion project – the foundation for a future feature film that tells this story in its full cinematic breadth.”

“At the end of this film, the audience should not only understand Michael Schumacher – they should feel like they are him,” he explains. Fans have the opportunity to support the project with monetary donations.
