(Motorsport-Total.com) – Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli tries to consciously shield himself from external influences during a race weekend. In view of the high expectations after his strong start to the season, the Italian relies on maximum concentration and completely refrains from social media during this time.

When asked if he had made changes in view of the pressure and high expectations, Antonelli explains: “Yes, definitely. I don’t look at social media at all during race week. I try to avoid as many distractions as possible.”
His goal is to focus completely on the upcoming tasks. “All I want is to work as focused as possible towards the goal of the weekend,” says the Mercedes junior. That is why he concentrates on the process and on what he has to do on and off the track.
High expectations after strong start to the season
After the positive results at the beginning of the season, expectations have now risen significantly. Nevertheless, Antonelli tries not to let himself be influenced by this. “I know that expectations are very high now, especially after this strong start to the season. But I try not to think too much about it and not to get carried away by it.”

Instead, the 19-year-old Italian follows the same approach as at previous race weekends. “I just try to focus on what I have to do. I want to be determined and enjoy the weekend. Enjoy driving.”
Antonelli is convinced that the results will follow if he consistently continues on this path. “I know a good result will come if I do these things well and stay present in every moment.” With this, the Mercedes driver continues to rely on composure and concentration to deal with the growing public interest in him.
