“Le Mans would be an example. McLaren is participating [in the race], so maybe something will happen there in the future. But I don’t know. I’m still young, so I haven’t thought about everything yet. Hopefully, I will have children someday who get into motorsport themselves. Then I could experience it all again.”
McLaren will participate in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2027 with a Hypercar. The manufacturer thus belongs to a variety of companies that have participated in the top class of endurance racing in recent years. Ford is also currently planning a Hypercar appearance at the classic race at Sarthe.

Currently, Max Verstappen is causing a stir mainly through his foray into the world of endurance racing. However, Norris has already participated in the 24 Hours of Daytona in his racing career. At that time, the Brit was teamed up with Phil Hanson and Fernando Alonso in an LMP2 car and impressed with his speed.
Already at the 2025 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, Norris confirmed that the challenge of Le Mans would appeal to him. In addition, team boss Zack Brown has already hinted that an appearance by Norris or Oscar Piastri would by no means be unthinkable. “I have talked to Lando and Oscar about it,” he said on WEC TV last year.

McLaren is familiar with crossover projects. Fernando Alonso has taken the opportunity several times to participate in the 500 Miles of Indianapolis. The attempt by Kyle Larson to compete in the Indy 500 and the Coke 600 on the same day has been supported by the company in recent years.
Whether a Le Mans intermezzo by the current Formula 1 drivers will be logistically possible is another question. The calendar for the 2027 Grand Prix season is not yet known.
