The race itself was watched by an average of 1.55 million viewers on RTL. This meant that the reach remained below the values of the two previous years: in 2025, 1.81 million people had tuned in, and in 2024, it had been 1.83 million. The decline compared to 2025 was thus around 14 percent. In Monaco, 1.8 million viewers had also followed RTL.
In terms of market shares, RTL still performed significantly above the channel average. In the 14-to-49 age group, the broadcast reached 19.8 percent, and in the 14-to-59 age group, it was 15.5 percent. The market share among the total audience was 14.0 percent. At its peak, up to 1.75 million people followed the action in Spa-Francorchamps.
Additionally, 589,000 viewers tuned in to Sky. Despite the parallel free-TV broadcast, this figure was slightly above the previous season’s average of 562,000 viewers. (Data on streaming usage on Sky is not yet available.)
Compared to previous Spa races, Sky’s reach ranks in the midfield. In 2025, 653,000 viewers tuned in, and in 2024, it was 489,000. The significantly higher values from 2023 and 2022, with 720,000 and 750,000 viewers respectively, were not reached. In contrast, the result was clearly better than in 2021, when 457,000 people watched the race on Sky.

Combined, RTL and Sky achieved a market share of more than 30 percent among 14- to 49-year-olds. This shows that the parallel broadcast on free and pay TV broadened the overall reach without pushing Sky to a significantly below-average level.
Above-average TV interest in Austria
Interest also remained high in Austria. ServusTV reached an average of 608,000 viewers for the race, which is about 28 percent more than the previous season’s average of 474,000. In addition, there were 192,257 views via ServusTV On. The market share was an outstanding 44.5 percent among the total population aged twelve and over, and even 51.4 percent in the target group of 12- to 49-year-olds.
Compared to previous Austrian broadcasts, the race surpassed ServusTV’s figures from 2024 (553,000) and 2023 (569,000), but remained below the record value of 680,000 viewers from 2022. Only the two ORF broadcasts in 2025 (670,000) and 2021 (526,000) also rank high in this comparison.
Who will broadcast the next race in Hungary
For the Hungarian Grand Prix at the Hungaroring near Budapest, only pay-TV channel Sky will broadcast all sessions live in Germany. RTL will only show qualifying on free-TV. In Austria, the public broadcaster ORF will take over the live broadcasts, and in Switzerland, Formula 1 can be seen on SRF as always. (More on this in our TV overview!)
