(Motorsport-Total.com) – Former team principal Christian Horner is on site at the race weekend of the British Grand Prix in Silverstone. It is his first visit to a Formula 1 race since he left the Red Bull team last July after a long and successful era.

His departure before the Belgian Grand Prix last year followed a sporting slump and an escalating power struggle within the team. After exactly one year of break, the 52-year-old is now theoretically free for negotiations again but has not yet found a suitable new role.
Christian Horner recently emphasized that he only wants to return to the paddock for a project with real chances of winning. He wants to play a leading role and actively pull the strings, rather than just take a normal position. Therefore, the Brit is in no hurry to make a decision.

In Silverstone, he is now expected as a guest in the paddock. The Brit still maintains good contacts with Formula 1 boss Stefano Domenicali, whom he met in April at the MotoGP race in Jerez. He also paid a visit to FIA President Mohammed Bin Sulayem at the federation’s headquarters in Paris.
Coinciding with his return, Christian Horner announced the release of his first autobiography. The book titled “Drive” is set to be published on October 22 by Transworld Publishing. In addition to the printed edition, there will be an audiobook version, which he narrated himself.

The publisher promises a very open and uncompromising work. In it, the Brit reflects on his more than two decades at the top of Formula 1, during which he celebrated a total of eight drivers’ and six constructors’ titles with Red Bull and drivers Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen.
Comeback is on the agenda
The book is intended to portray the extreme pressure and mental demands in the cockpit and at the pit wall unvarnished. It describes the instinctive decisions that in a sport at the absolute limit decide victory or defeat and addresses the personal sacrifices.
At a car show in Dublin, Christian Horner already hinted that he does not yet see his career in the top class as finished. He feels there are still unfinished business for him there, as his departure from Red Bull did not go according to his own expectations.
He misses the sport, the people, and the successful team he built, he explained in February. Although he does not necessarily have to return, he would do so as soon as a suitable opportunity arises with partners who share his absolute will to win.
