Bottas’s off-track moment…
… is available here again in the video. Of course, it’s not exactly helpful for confidence, especially before qualifying, if the brakes suddenly fail. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that Cadillac finds the problem.

Fine for Aston Martin
Lance Stroll was caught speeding in the pit lane during FT3 at 85.9 instead of the permitted 80 km/h. This results in a fine of 600 Euros for Aston Martin. At least it wasn’t an overshoot of 0.1 km/h, otherwise we would have been nervous again after Monaco…
Advantage Russell?
The experts from Sky clearly see George Russell as the favorite in qualifying later. “I think he knew before arriving that this track would suit his driving style a little better than his teammate’s,” says Jacques Villeneuve.
“Antonelli’s driving style is well suited for tracks with many stop-and-go sections,” explains the 1997 world champion, adding: “This track tends strongly towards understeer, but at the same time, the rear breaks out.”
“Russell has a smoother driving style, and that comes into its own here,” says Villeneuve. And Karun Chandhok explains: “One thing is clear: you can’t drive this track at 100 percent. The tires won’t last.”
Russell benefits from his experience here, he suspects. “George knows exactly what he needs to do to put in a qualifying lap,” says Chandhok. Antonelli still lacks this knowledge.

24 Hours of Le Mans
A small note outside the premier class: This weekend, the 24 Hours of Le Mans is also taking place – with numerous ex-Formula 1 drivers such as Robert Kubica, Kamui Kobayashi, or Nyck de Vries.
The start is today at 16:00, and we will also be there for you with a live ticker.
Mekies: We need to look at this
While we’re at it: Laurent Mekies spoke to Sky about the whole situation surrounding the chaos in Monaco. “I think even if we try to keep the podium out of the discussions, it’s obviously quite difficult for viewers at home to understand,” he explains.
“There are penalties against which no appeal can be made,” says Mekies, adding: “So it’s extremely difficult to accept when all these unappealable penalties are somehow overturned in the end. This is certainly something we, as a sport, need to look at as a whole.”
Red Bull’s Isack Hadjar had celebrated on the podium in Monaco but subsequently lost third place again.
Will Red Bull and McLaren protest?
As a reminder: Red Bull and McLaren announced yesterday their intention to protest against the race stewards’ decision in the Alpine case. However, no protest has been filed yet.
One should also not expect this to happen today (or tomorrow). Because both teams have 96 hours to decide whether they will actually protest.
This deadline expires only on Tuesday. And presumably, the teams will take this time.
