(Motorsport-Total.com) – These are crucial questions at every Formula 1 2026 race weekend. Namely: What is the weather forecast? Is a wet track expected on site? Are intermediates or even wet tires needed? Or will it simply remain consistently dry from practice to qualifying to the race, and dry tires will suffice? In short: What do drivers like Nico Hülkenberg, Max Verstappen, and Lewis Hamilton have to prepare for?

To answer these questions, our editors keep a close eye on the weather at the Formula 1 venues several days before the start of tests or race weekends. And as the event progresses, this preview article is updated with new weather information such as temperature in degrees Celsius, wind strength, cloud cover, and expected precipitation for each day of the weekend.
The result is the most precise weather forecast possible for the respective Grands Prix of the 2026 Formula 1 season. However, all information is without guarantee, as some motorsport locations, such as Spa-Francorchamps or the Nürburgring, are known for having particularly changeable weather that cannot always be accurately predicted. Precipitation can also occur there unannounced.

1st Free Practice (1:30 PM – 2:30 PM)
The start of Formula 1 practice in Barcelona will be summery warm: With bright sunshine over the racetrack, temperatures will rise to up to 27 degrees Celsius. The only uncertainty factor is the wind: It blows on average at twelve km/h from the southeast, which means headwind in the final corner and tailwind in the section from turn 7 to 9. Individual gusts of wind can reach up to 33 km/h.
2nd Free Practice (5:00 PM – 6:00 PM)

This results in a headwind at turn 5 and a tailwind at (among others) turn 12. Peak speeds of up to 28 km/h are possible with individual gusts of wind.
