The Frenchman commented on the events in an interview with Sky UK on Friday morning, expressing relief about the outcome but also emphasizing the emotional strain of the past few days.
Speaking to Sky UK, Gasly explained: “It feels very good. I’m very happy for the entire team and very proud of how they fought for this result for all of us.”
Difficult phase after the race
At the same time, he described the difficult phase immediately after the race: “Sunday evening was very tough for me. I had a lot of mixed feelings, pride in the performance, but also great disappointment about the decision and the whole situation. I felt unfairly treated.”
Gasly also highlighted that he was initially unsure how the situation would develop, but praised his team’s work and the openness of those responsible in the process.

In this context, he also referred to the role of the FIA and described the transparency of the review as an important step forward for Formula 1: “I am very proud of Formula 1 and the FIA for the transparency and for everyone acknowledging their responsibility in this situation.”
Missed podium moment remains
Despite the subsequent correction, the Frenchman made it clear that the missed moment on the podium cannot be replaced: “It won’t give me back what I missed. I have already accepted that. These moments make a career special, and this moment will not happen. That’s just how it is,” said Gasly.
Finally, the driver looked at his team’s sporting development and the positive form curve of the season. The continuous points are a sign of progress since last season and an important impetus for the upcoming races.
Gasly therefore sees the final confirmation of the result in Monaco not only as personal satisfaction but also as a sign of positive development within the entire team.
